Superior Resveratrol by JOOCE

R 42900

The PCOS supplement quietly backed by some of the strongest clinical evidence in fertility medicine.

Superior Resveratrol by JOOCE pairs two of the most researched plant compounds in women's hormonal and reproductive health,  pure trans-resveratrol from giant knotweed, and a high-potency 95% procyanidin grape seed extract,  in a clean, premium formula designed for women navigating PCOS, hormonal imbalance, age-related egg quality decline, and the demands of trying to conceive.

This isn't a wellness trend. Resveratrol has been studied in randomised controlled trials in PCOS women and the results are remarkable.

Why we stock it

  • Backed by clinical trials in PCOS women — a 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials found resveratrol significantly reduced testosterone, luteinising hormone (LH), and DHEAS in women with PCOS. These are the three core hormonal markers of PCOS
  • High-potency, standardised actives — 500mg of giant knotweed root standardised to 50% trans-resveratrol (the bioactive form), plus 250mg of grape seed extract standardised to 95% procyanidins. No vague "proprietary blends"
  • Two fertility-active ingredients in one capsule — grape seed procyanidins are independently studied for their effects on oocyte (egg) viability, ovarian inflammation, and PCOS metabolic markers
  • Powerful antioxidant for egg quality — oxidative stress is one of the biggest drivers of age-related egg quality decline and IVF failure. Resveratrol and grape seed procyanidins are among the most well-studied antioxidants for ovarian function
  • Supports insulin sensitivity — particularly relevant for the insulin-resistant subtype of PCOS, where conventional supplements often fall short
  • Anti-inflammatory at the ovarian level — chronic low-grade inflammation drives PCOS, endometriosis, and poor follicular development
  • No additives, no fillers
  • 100% pure ingredients
  • Gluten-free
  • Non-GMO
  • Vegan friendly

Why this matters for fertility

PCOS affects roughly 1 in 10 South African women of reproductive age and for most of them, the standard advice is "lose weight" or "go on the pill." Neither addresses the underlying hormonal and metabolic drivers.

Here's what the latest research shows resveratrol can support:

  • Lower testosterone — directly reduces the elevated androgens that cause acne, hirsutism, hair loss, and irregular cycles
  • Lower LH — reduces the LH:FSH imbalance characteristic of PCOS, which suppresses ovulation
  • Lower DHEAS — reduces adrenal androgen production
  • Improved insulin sensitivity — addresses the metabolic root of most PCOS cases
  • Reduced oxidative stress in follicular fluid — a 2024 randomised, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial in PCOS women undergoing IVF found resveratrol significantly reduced oxidative stress in the fluid surrounding developing eggs and increased total antioxidant capacity
  • Protective effects against age-related fertility decline — particularly relevant for women over 35 trying to conceive

Who this is for

  • Women with PCOS — this is one of the most evidence-backed natural supplements in our range for PCOS
  • Women with insulin resistance, irregular cycles, or anovulation
  • Women in the pre-conception / trying-to-conceive (TTC) phase wanting to support egg quality
  • Women over 35 concerned about age-related egg quality decline
  • Women preparing for IVF or IUI wanting to reduce follicular oxidative stress
  • Women with endometriosis wanting anti-inflammatory ovarian support
  • Women with acne, hirsutism, or hair loss related to elevated androgens

What's inside (per capsule)

Ingredient Amount What it does
Giant Knotweed root (Polygonum cuspidatum) standardised to 50% trans-resveratrol 500mg (250mg trans-resveratrol) The most bioavailable plant source of trans-resveratrol; supports hormonal balance, insulin sensitivity, and antioxidant protection
Grape Seed extract (Vitis vinifera L.) standardised to 95% procyanidins 250mg High-potency antioxidant; supports oocyte viability, PCOS metabolic markers, and ovarian inflammation

Other ingredients: Vegetable Capsule (Hypromellose / HPMC).

Free from: Gluten, GMO, animal products, additives, fillers, sugar.

Allergen note: Contains no common allergens. Made in a facility that processes eggs, dairy, and soy.

How to use

Take 2 capsules daily with a glass of water, or as directed by your healthcare provider.

DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE.

60 capsules per bottle — a 30-day supply at 2 capsules daily.

For best results: use consistently for at least 3 months, as this aligns with the 90-day egg maturation cycle. Most clinical trials in PCOS used resveratrol for 60–90 days before measuring outcomes.

Good to know

  • Important — pregnancy: This product is NOT recommended during pregnancy. Resveratrol supplements contain concentrations far higher than dietary sources, and human safety data in pregnancy is insufficient. Discontinue use immediately if you suspect or confirm pregnancy.
  • Important — breastfeeding: Avoid during breastfeeding. There is no published safety data on resveratrol supplements in nursing mothers, and supplement-strength resveratrol may transfer through breast milk.
  • Always confirm with your medical practitioner first if you are trying to conceive, on any medication (especially blood thinners, statins, calcium channel blockers, or chemotherapy drugs), or have a diagnosed health condition
  • Pre- and post-surgery: Discontinue use at least 2 weeks before any scheduled surgery, as resveratrol may have mild blood-thinning effects
  • Best paired with myo-inositol (the most-researched supplement for PCOS), a quality prenatal, and CoQ10 for women over 35 or preparing for IVF
  • Don't use if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients

This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition.
