A clear, private at-home check of sperm count — an easy first step before the clinic.

What it is: An at-home screening test that shows whether your sperm concentration falls within the WHO normal fertile range (≥15 million/mL) — a clear, private first check using a complete kit, with results in 5 minutes.

Features:

  • WHO-aligned threshold shows if sperm concentration is ≥15 million/mL (normal) or below
  • Clinically accurate SP-10 technology for high-specificity detection
  • Clear, easy-to-read result in 5 minutes
  • A complete kit — everything for collection, dilution and testing included
  • Private first check at home, with no clinic visit needed
  • Made by DNX Medical, a SAHPRA-licensed device company trusted by SA pharmacies

Description: Sperm count is one of the biggest factors in conception, yet it's often the last thing a couple checks. This gives you a clear, private first answer at home a simple way to know where you stand, and to track changes over time after any lifestyle or medical adjustments.

What's in the box: 1 × test cassette · 1 × semen collection cup · 1 × semen transfer device · 1 × sample dilution buffer · 1 × workstation tray · 1 × instruction leaflet.

Use: Abstain from ejaculation for 3–7 days before testing. Collect a sample in the cup and let it liquefy for 60 minutes, then draw 0.1ml with the transfer device and mix with the dilution buffer. Add 2 drops to the test cassette and read at 5 minutes: two lines (control + test) = normal concentration (≥15 million/mL); one line (control only) = low (<15 million/mL). Avoid testing after illness, fever or extreme stress, which can temporarily affect results.

Note: For in-vitro diagnostic (home) use only, as an initial screen of sperm concentration,  it doesn't measure motility or other fertility factors and isn't a diagnosis. Discuss your result with a healthcare professional, especially a low reading or if you're struggling to conceive. Store in a cool, dry place and don't use after the printed expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.

Founder's note: Fertility is so often framed as a women's issue, but the male side plays a role just as often and it's one of the easiest things to check first. We stock this because taking that quiet first step at home, before any clinic visit, saves a lot of guesswork. But always recommend that you go for a more detailed test to check the sperm quality, quantity and mobility.

Unflavoured Collagen

Chemistry Natural Science Collagen-X multi collagen powder with hyaluronic acid

How it works

Different collagen types build different tissues, and Collagen-X covers four of them rather than the one or two most collagen supplements offer.

Bovine collagen provides Types I and III — the collagen in skin, hair, nails, bone and the connective tissue that stretches through pregnancy and has to recover afterwards.

Undenatured chicken collagen provides Type II, the collagen in cartilage. Undenatured means it hasn't been broken down by heat, which is what allows it to work the way it does in the joint studies — Chemistry Natural Science cite clinical work showing it outperformed glucosamine and chondroitin for osteoarthritis symptoms.

Eggshell membrane adds Type X, involved in bone and cartilage development.

Hyaluronic acid holds water in the skin. Collagen provides the structure; hyaluronic acid provides the hydration that makes that structure look and feel plump rather than dry.

At 96% protein, there's very little in here that isn't collagen — which is what separates it from blends where collagen is one ingredient among thirty.

What's inside

Bovine Collagen Peptides · Undenatured Chicken Collagen (Type II) · Eggshell Membrane Collagen (Type X) · Hyaluronic Acid

96% protein content. No added sugar, no fillers.

Contains bovine, chicken and egg. Not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

How to use & good to know

Daily in water, coffee, tea or a smoothie.

Safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and safe for the whole family — which is unusual in this category and part of why we stock it. As with anything new, mention it to your healthcare provider.

Give it around 12 weeks for skin, hair and nail changes. Joint comfort often shows sooner — Chemistry Natural Science say most people notice something within the first two weeks.

Vitamin C helps. Your body uses vitamin C to build collagen, so taking this alongside a vitamin C source, or a meal with fruit or vegetables, makes sense.

Already taking a collagen supplement? Check your totals before doubling up.

Contains egg and chicken — check carefully if you have allergies.

This unregistered Category D complementary medicine has not been evaluated by SAHPRA for its quality, safety or intended use. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Chat to your healthcare provider before use, especially if you're on medication. Keep out of reach of children.

96% protein, four collagen types

Bovine, undenatured chicken and eggshell membrane with hyaluronic acid — very little in the tub that isn't collagen.
