How it works
Trying to conceive changes what sex is for a while. Timed intercourse, ovulation windows, treatment cycles and the sheer pressure of it all make dryness far more common than anyone talks about — and hormone medication makes it more likely again. Needing lubricant during this is normal, and it isn't a sign that anything is wrong.
Most lubricants on a pharmacy shelf are formulated for feel rather than for the tissue they sit on. Glycerine is a sugar alcohol that can feed yeast; the wrong osmolarity draws water out of delicate cells rather than leaving them alone; fragrance and parabens are common irritants in an area that doesn't tolerate them well.
